Ruleset
1. Community & Discord
1. Be Mature.
If Edgelording / Shitposting is your jam, we are probably not the server for you.
2. No Offensive Names/Photos.
3. Be Respectful To Others.
No Bullying, Discrimination, Harassment or other disrespectful activity will be tolerated.
4. Don't Dominate The Channels.
5. Topics should be contained to correct channels.
6. No Unnecessary Pings.
7. No Deliberately Creating Drama.
8. Extensive complaining about server features is not tolerated.
Constructive criticism of our server is welcome, but pejoratives / extensive complaining about systems that you do not like is not. If you have a suggestion on how we can improve, create a thread in the suggestions channel.
9. Ask for permission before advertising anything.
2. Admins, Moderators, Punishments and Rules
1. Respect the Staff and obey their requests.
2. No accusations of rule breaking or discussing player reports in public channels.
Accusations of player rule breaches or admins abusing their power should be made exclusively in a player report ticket.
3. Arguing a punishment will result in an extension of that punishment.
4. Do not exploit 'loopholes' in the rules.
If you are judged to be intentionally circumventing the obvious intention of a rule, you will likely receive a punishment. Play it safe, and ask an admin if unsure (and receive an amnesty).
3. Roleplay
1. RP is performing actions through your character.
'DMing' any scenario or plot that affects factions other than your own is not permitted.
2. Character origins should be believable.
No, you aren’t a 300,000,000,000,000 year old demi-god who may have created the universe.
3. Value your character’s life.
Taking an RP action that is likely to result in the death of your character should not be pursued lightly.
4. Roleplay is about telling stories rather than winning.
Losing a fight or a political confrontation is part of good RP. Be prepared to lose, and to concede defeat when there is no reasonable RP way to continue pushing for victory.
5. Mind other's RP Boundaries.
Certain RP topics may go a step too far. Please make considerations around who you are playing with. Above all, be mindful that some players are minors. If something makes someone uncomfortable please stop and break RP.
6. No Meta Gaming.
Meta is using information that was gathered from non-RP sources.
7. No Power Gaming.
A player who unilaterally describes his character as doing something with, (or to) another character that would usually require the other to play along is considered to be powergaming.
8. Roleplay over Ruleplay.
If you are in a scenario which requires you to act immediately to further the RP or to react realistically, you are allowed to bend the combat rules. Abuse of this will result in punishments. If unclear contact an admin.
Roleplay over Ruleplay Example: If you encounter a faction or player in their territory and they ask you to identify yourself and stop for inspection, they are free to fire upon you should you attempt to escape.
9. Community Projects.
A community project is a base or similar that serves some strong RP purpose with importance to more than one faction. A proposed project can be designated as a Community Project by talking to an admin. Community projects may be eligible for an admin safe zone.
Examples of community projects:
A memorial to a large server battle.
10. No recruiting Non-RP players to win a war.
Players joining the server for the sole purpose of winning a confrontation are likely to be removed. The GURP player that invited them may also be removed from the server.
4. General Gameplay
1. Common Sense! If something sounds bad it probably is.
An RP server can have complex scenarios where a rule may or may not apply. Check with an admin if you're not sure, and use your common sense.
2. Exploiting, Cheating, and Abusing mechanics are all not tolerated.
If you find a way to exploit a GURP gameplay feature, report it rather than abusing it.
5. PVP
1. Ghosting: You may not log out in another player's base and later log back in to raid it.
2. Initiations and Hostile Actions: All hostile actions and initiations must be made clear and logical to all parties involved.
Reasons for hostile actions must be clear and there always be a way to resolve a situation without unwarranted death (if possible).
3. Self-Defense and Kill Rights: If your life is at risk or you are subject to hostile actions, you may defend yourself.
Kill Rights allow for actions based on the situation:
Combat Logging: Combat logging to avoid fights is prohibited. If you must leave, please sort it out OOC with the other party.
4. Hostage Rules: If you capture someone, make sure they are well looked after to avoid any pointless death.
- The point of capture is to make sure a hostile situation can be resolved without death.
- However this is null and void if:
- Non-compliance with repeated demands or escape attempts.
- Posing a direct threat, such as picking up a weapon when forbidden.
- Not valuing their life, like repeated insults or defiance.
- Their faction refuses to negotiate or attacks the captors.
- Negotiation demands are unmet after a reasonable time.
Depending on the capture arrangement and situation. Admins must be notified when an individual is captured. We'll provide a rough timeframe you can maintain them for before being forced to release.
5. Item Searches: If other players search you, you must surrender all items visible on your character.
Concealing items or creating imaginary hidden items is not allowed.
6. Base Raiding: Base Raiding must be done via doors and entrance ways.
Using exploititive methods to gain entry to bases or sneak ways into bases ruins the fun of building proper RP bases and structures. Likewise, doors should all be accessible and properly placed.
6. Base Building
1. Bases are defined by a proper structure with walls and established setting. Tents, etc do not count.
2. Zoning.
- Please build atleast 300m away from military zones. It is important we do not block important loot spawns.
- Do NOT build on or over main roads.
- Do not build in hospitals, police stations or areas which have vital loot to others who wish to explore.
3. Base locations can be anywhere. However placing a territory flag is restricted to outwith main vital hubs/cities.
I.E you cannot place a territory flag in Vorkuta. Please ask if unsure.
4. No Spamming ridiculous amount of doors to storage areas.
5. Storage
- Due to our player count. A maximum of containers allowed in a base is > 30 < please take this seriously. If lag exists this will be first to be adjusted.
- 2 Vehicles per person max.
6. Engineering
7. Please do not abuse the build mechanics in any manner.
Do not have floating structures, do not have inaccessible storage areas etc.
6. KOS Zones
Each zone is considered a full on PVP-Zone.
Take extra care when entering or leaving. You can of course still engage in RP in those zones, just be aware that the risk is much higher.
